DESCRIPTION:
APW - Hamilton, Grade 950B, 23J, 16S, gold-filled OF original Hamilton Model A case, "Hamilton 23 Jewels Railway Special" marked melamine DS dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, jeweled barrel arbor, striped pattern nickel damascene, s#S17993. An excellent example of this top grade railroad watch.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, few micro-fine scratches; dial with micro-fine surface split to outer chapter at 10, some mild fine to micro-fine scratches and light rub marks, wear to upper right perimeter of seconds-register and chapter markings of 4 seconds and 5 seconds appear to have been re-drawn in ink, some edge wear under bezel; nearly mint hands; case shows virtually no wear, typical micro-fine contact scratches to rear, nick to band at 4 and few additional tiny pinpoint nicks elsewhere to band, brushed finish of rear is fully intact; tight bow, crown shows hardly any wear; good glass crystal with some glue excess at its seat.
